CHAKRI

This scene shows Krishna jumpimg towards the grandsire Bheeshma in the war after being as severely wounded by his arrows as was Arjuna. He was holding a wheel or Chakra and hence named chakri. His personal weapon too was a discus (=chakra) thus getting an epithet Chakri ( one who holds a discus).

In the great war of Mahaabhaaratham, Krishna was Arjuna's charioteer. Krishna was Arjuna's cousin and brother-in-law too. He vowed that he wouldn't fight in the war himself but promised victory.

But he became outrageously exasperated on two occassions, once on the third day and again on the ninth day of the 18 day long war ,when he found that Arjuna could not hold the grand old man. He pounced upon Bheeshma claiming to kill him for the Paandavas' victory. Arjuna, with great difficulty, could check him in a span of 10 leaps. Bheeshma, however, remained unperturbed.

The picture shows the angry Krishna, the cool Bheeshma and the agitated Arjuna trying to hold his cousin back. The disturbed Kourava soldiers were also seen.
